A note from Ms Rich: The idea is to stimulate conversation not debate, nor argument. Discussants are being asked to reflect on breakthroughs in their own lives and in their children’s when Imagination is put into forward gear.

Dear STEP Parents,

Albert Einstein said: “Imagination is more important than knowledge. For knowledge is limited to all we now know and understand, while imagination embraces the entire world, and all there ever will be to know and understand.”

Was Einstein right?

I agree…..Success or Failure is first imagined in the mind. Nothing comes to fruition without first imagining it. Imagination is like cyber space goes on endlessly……..(1) Imagine (2) materialize (3) Leave a legacy in terms of knowlege (Einstein invention)…..With knowlege then comes power….

Imagination allows one to think outside the box, be creative and explore endless possibilities.

Tomorrow, several of our STEP kids, Jesse included, will be leaving for Spain! Hamilton High School has provided a wonderful opportunity for them to travel abroad. I hope they return changed from visiting a different culture. Experiencing different food, cities, people, ways of living will broaden and stimulate their imagination. Maybe even more valuable than what they will learn about art, architecture, history. I hope all the STEP kids have a great time!!!

Given how structured the lives of many children are both in terms of education and recreational activities, is there time for them to sit back and let their imaginations run free?

What can parents do to help?

WOW! I like the new look!! I don’t really have a comment on the above topic, but I wanted to know if there will be any college visits this year? I’ve asked once before but still haven’t received any answer. Also, being that this is a presidential election year, can we have comments and begin dialogue on the politicians and their campaigns (both democratic and republican) running in the race??? Everyone seems to be talking about it on the news, you read it in the papers, and people are even discussing it on their jobs (I know they do here on my job!). This might also spur on more dialogue on our web-page.

I would like to thank Simi and the team for helping our children with the Lego Competition……..I guess we received the second place, even though we would have really liked to be the first….well there is always the next time……

Just wanted the team to know that we as parents do appreciate all the help that we can get and we do not take the teams’ precious time for granted.

May God Bless you all for your efforts.

    Miriam:
I didn’t even know the blog banner had changed since I was last on. So the new look is new to me too! This sometimes happens when the edublogs people add new features and more “bling” to the server.

About the college trip, I may join with Mercy and Purchase to go on a Southern college tour. We’ll see how that develops. It may be soon – during the Easter break. Be on the lookout for that.

About the political dialogue, I’m sure a conversation will be welcomed. You may start the ball a-rolling with a comment of your own. A question for you. What are your thoughts about the candidates and, as indicated by their stated ideas – say on education – the future possibilities for our children?
