A NEW YEAR POST FROM KEN SCHWARZ
Dear STEP Parents,
As the year 2007 approaches its end, it is important for all of us think back over the events of the year in an attempt to decide which of them influenced us the most. Was it the belated, but effective, focus on climate change? Was it the decline in the value of the US Dollar, which in turn enabled some of our manufacturers to greatly increase their share of world trade? Was it presidential debates that focused our attention on immigration? Was it the world-wide tests that showed American students lagging behind many of the world’s countries in math and science? Was it the dismal failure of governments at all levels to deal with the continuing problems in New Orleans caused by hurricane Katrina? Was it the continuing war in Iraq coupled with our threats of starting a new war with Iran? Was it the California wildfires? Was it the veto of the S-CHIP bill that would have provided health care to needy children?
The list could go on and on. What would each of you add to my list? What affected you the most? What would you do to change things? What can we do in 2008 to avoid the mistakes of 2007? How can we make this a better world for ourselves and our children? Please think about these things and add your comments to this message.
Happy New Year. May 2008 be a year of reflection and prosperity.

The dollar is weak ….would be advisable to spend our money here in America as opposed to overseas……get a lot for our money…….the English come to America to shop….so it is like getting 50% discount….

I wish everyone a very healthy happy and prosperous new year. We all need to take our relationship with God very seriously now more than ever before. He is the only source of peace.
